About Sampson PTO
What does the PTO Do?
The PTO brings the parents and teachers of Sampson together to support the school. The PTO helps organize and fund special programs for the school, as well as provide volunteers to support those programs. Some of these programs and activities include holiday parties, teacher and staff appreciation, Field Day, Readers in Action, and many other “extras” the district cannot provide. The PTO also provides volunteers in the Library, the Clinic, Imagination Garden, Science Resource Center, grade level field trips, and more. With a successful fundraising program, the PTO is able to provide the school with cultural arts events (in-house field trips), technology and other tools to aid in the education of our students. Sampson PTO provides support for the teachers and staff so they can focus more on their students and teaching. Click here to read our By Laws.
What are VIPS
VIPS stands for Volunteers In Public Schools. When you volunteer at Sampson in any capacity, the school saves money by not having to hire someone to complete that task. The more you volunteer, the more programs the school is able to offer. Anyone can be a VIPS, you do not have to be a member of the PTO to volunteer, but you must be a member to chair a committee or hold a board position.
How do I get involved:
Each of the committee chairs with contact info is listed in the Committees page of this site. Reach out directly to any of them to see how you can help in their group. You can also see our current Volunteer needs on the Sign Ups page. Also follow SampsonPTO on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for frequent updates regarding where and when we need Volunteers. Join us at our PTO meetings to hear in person what the PTO is working on and how you can help.
